Ariel is an Associate Lawyer at Shillers LLP focusing on Human Rights and Employment litigation.

Before joining the firm, Ariel completed her articling term at a commercial litigation boutique in downtown Toronto. She has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court and has assisted with matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal.

*Ariel received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McMaster University and went on to study law in London, England. As a law student, she was editor of The City Law Society Journal and worked for the British Red Cross where she assisted refugees and asylum-seekers with legal matters. She received the CLS award for outstanding performance in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and International Criminal Law by achieving the highest standing in each course. She was also awarded a full scholarship to attend The Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) for her final year of law school where she specialized in International Human Rights Law.

Ariel is currently on the Board of Directors for AfterMeToo, an organization committed to ending workplace sexual misconduct, violence and harassment. She also supports the LGBTQ2S community as a volunteer lawyer with The 519 Legal Clinic. As part of her commitment to assisting vulnerable and marginalized groups, Ariel has completed special training on gender and sexual diversity in the workplace, domestic violence in the workplace, supporting survivors and victims of trauma, and psychosocial support.

Ariel is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Toronto Lawyers Association, The Advocates’ Society, and the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund.
